Jul 15 - more and less

More:

-- power washing, did the lake facing part of the deck front
-- rain, it rained heavily
-- Dr. Who, yeah, more of the Doctor
-- visiting -- saw Jim & Bonnie, Art
-- mail, well, went into town and picked up one piece of junk mail ... what a waste of a trip
-- wings ... had wings for dinner

Less:

-- head cold seems to be easing up; slept reasonably well last night
-- dirt in the eves-troughs / gutters because I cleaned them in the middle of the rain storm, tired of water pouring down on the deck


Sandy decided to go into Sudbury to pick up stain for the deck.  We've now got an oil formulation for both the deck and railings.  In fact, they don't make the water based for the deck anymore.  Guess why ?  They were both water based the last time and didn't last long at all.  When I took stock downstairs I found that I've got two full cans of the stain for our siding, so I should probably do some inspection and patching of that too, if necessary.  I think that it was three years ago that we did the walls.  It was two years ago for the deck and some parts have no stain left.

Now we wait for the deck to dry.  Looking at the weather, I'll be staining on Sunday, perhaps Saturday.  Then again, perhaps we'll be rushing down to Reading ?  Who knows !
