We pretty well knew that a c-section on August 1 was likely dreaming in technicolor ...
Sara went to the hospital in the afternoon with regular contractions. Although they might have been Braxton Hicks, someone decided that it was time ... time for this baby to see the light of day. They gave her something to quieten those contractions and surgery is scheduled for 8am this morning, Thursday, assuming that nothing happened overnight of which I'm unaware ... wait, let me check Facebook ...
Nothing new on Facebook, good, it's better to do this with the team of specialists around rather than in the middle of the night in a rush.
We're all nervous. This isn't just "having a baby" or "having a c-section". Sara has a number of complications and she'll be going under for the surgery, which of course affects the baby too. They must some how ease into the full anesthetic so that the baby isn't fully under ? I don't know.
When the word came from Jeffrey, Sandy started packing. We decided that she would head down alone and I would go ahead with my schedule for today, Friday and Saturday. Emma is with Susan, Sara's Mom, at this point and someone needs to look after Zoe. I'd be in the way and we're not sure what's happening next. We'll know by the end of the weekend whether Sandy will simply head back with the girls or I'll head down. Who knows, I might be heading to Chesapeake Beach MD to pick up Emma ...
Sandy didn't want to do the entire drive in one fell swoop, so she made it to Batavia last night but not until 1:30 a.m. (well, I guess that's this morning). There was lots of construction she said; driving was slow. I'll have to find out where the construction is although there might not be any way of avoiding it.
So much for the plan for Sandy to visit Kylie in Huntsville today (Thursday).
While I'm away, since I leave mid morning, the Davies will take care of Abby. I think that Kim is up to the task :).
Roll back the clock ... I talked to the people at the Honda repair place and they'd been working on the 4-wheeler. It would likely be ready in the afternoon. I called them at 1pm and they said yes, it's ready. Anticipating that, I'd tied down the 3-wheeler in the trailer and got all hitched-up. I went to Parry Sound, dropped off the 3 and picked up the 4. It's back "home" and purring, new tires and all.
Now I have to get organized to head to Oakville. It's too bad that I can't take Abby with me (she wouldn't be happy left at the Motel 6) or I could head to Reading PA from there. As it is, I'll come back up here and might be heading down the next day ... or whatever ... we'll see.
Onward ? Hope so ...
