Jul 6 - running a little late

I got up later in Herentals, leaving about 1.5 hours later than planned.  That made the Autoroute traffic heavy going into Paris, surprise, surprise, even though it was Sunday.  I made it to the hotel around 9:45, circled the block once to find a place to park temporarily and dropped off the luggage.  From there I drove to Gare du Nord, got rid of the car and then took the Metro back to the hotel.  By then it was around 11:30, too late for breakfast which closes at 11:00.

Sandy and the gang had already gone sightseeing so I hopped back on the Metro, going to the Louvre.  The queue was humongous, probably looking at 2-3 hours to get into the place -- not for me -- and it was raining lightly.  So ... back to the hotel, M1 & M2, found a place nearby and picked up some takeout sushi.  It was very good.  Now I'm watching the TdF in French, no Phil Liggett.  For some reason our TV doesn't get any of the beyond-50 channels that are featured on Sheryl & Jim's TV, so the only English channel is Al Jezzera ... and they're not running the TdF !

I'm going to Mass this evening and then, or at the same time, we'll be having dinner.

Don't worry, my to do list includes the ride write-up.

Onward -- Westward tomorrow !
