Surely I could come up with a better title, but I didn't.
Emma helped me build the deck barriers, holding them up while attached the legs. Those in place, Zoe has limits on the deck ... but of course we're not keeping her on the deck !
When Zoe went down for her nap, Sandy did too. Emma was playing and watching TV so I decided that I'd nap there too. The house was quiet, for sure.
They both played on the beach late in the afternoon; Zoe unsure of the water didn't really get in. Emma tried to catch minnows but of course without any luck. Later on, it did rain but by then we were inside.
The power went out sometime during the night so the generator got 6+ hours work. I don't know when it went out but at 2am, in utter darkness, I got up and got it going. Sandy was awoken by the beep-beep-beep; I didn't hear any of that. She ended up sleeping upstairs in case Zoe woke up or maybe it was to get further from the beep beep ?
Silly me, I refilled the generator before calling to find out what time the power was expected to be restored. 15 minutes later, it was back on, just before 7am, as predicted. There were close to 2,000 people without power so it was more urgent than if it was just our end of the line.
Sandy plans to head into Sudbury with Emma today. This is going to be a challenge for me.
Onward !
