Feb 22/23 - south and back

It was an easy drive down to Jupiter, pausing in Hobe Sound along the way but my Aunt Ruth wasn't home.  The windows were shuttered so I'm presuming that she was up north, on a cruise or something (hopefully something warm !).  We got to the hotel, lounged around a little and then drove to Palm Beach.

My my there's a lot of money in the world held by a select few.  Opulence indeed.  We met Phil and Maria, had a lovely chat over a very good Italian dinner and then wandered along Wurth street and took in the sights.  I figured that if I sold our two houses, I could easily spend the proceeds on clothing on that street and run out of money. My my.  It's fascinating to see how the other half ... no the other 10% ... no the other .01 %, lives.

Back to the hotel, we, well mostly Sandy, watched the rest of the Oscars.  We were out by 7:30 in the morning driving back home.  I called the marina on the way and Jim and Sheryl, Jim's cousin and husband, showed up at 10:45 and we headed to the boat.  We had a lovely day out there with temps in the mid to high 70's.  We had our usual cruise out the inlet; it was fairly calm due to the west wind; stroll on the beach and then lunch.  Inlet Harbor was packed but we ate well.  I had the Mahi sandwich; Sandy had the Ahi sliders; Brian had a bowl of chowder; the other three had the "Megalodon" fried fish sandwiches, aptly named with 3/4 pound of fish ... huge !!

I did the second battery swap on the way back and that one is now on charge.  It didn't take long to charge up, so perhaps it wasn't very depleted anyway.  We snacked for dinner, still full from lunch, and watched the recording of the Oscars that I'd made, catching the red carpet stuff and the first couple of hours.

Today ... not sure.  Tomorrow, I'm doing the 400k pre-ride with Paul, just heard from him late yesterday.  That'll be a long day.  400k is my least favorite distance but it's part of the deal.

Onward !
