Apr 29 - Key West Express

It is a long ride and made even longer by our 6:30 arrival at the pier. A full six hours later we arrived in KW in pouring, I mean really dumping , rain. Apparently there were streets in KW under two feet of water, but surely they exaggerate.

Mark found a service that would take our bags to the hotel and we dashed across the lot into a restaurant for lunch. It was a two beer lunch as we waited for some of the rain to abate. Eventually it slowed down and we rode to the hotel. Regardless, we were quite soaked.

We took care of business - waivers, SPOT setup and checkout, got organized and then had an early dinner. Now, at 7:30, it's time for bed. John Preston will arrive in a couple of hours and disturb Mark ...

We get up a little after 2am and head down to the IHOP for breakfast, head to "Southernmost Point", take an obligatory picture, then begin our 430km ride for the day.

It's going to be a long one.
