A fairly easy drive to Barcelona but the city itself is a zoo ! Narrow lanes, drivers darting all over the place, street parking all consumed ... you get the idea. The only way of getting in front of our hotel is by driving down the bus lane. We are right in the middle of the action -- reminds me of staying in South Beach -- very Art Decco, high end shopping, mobs of people.
Once into our hotel and parked at their parking nearby (which costs almost as much as the hotel, reminding me of Florence), we walked the two blocks to the main drag, joining those mobs of people and sitting down for some Tapas and a glass of wine. Back to the hotel room for a couple of hours, we then headed out for dinner, which turned out to be ... Tapas, of course. A little of this, a little of that and you've had a meal.
The plan was to stay here for one full day, two nights, but we might extend that. Even though Barcelona wasn't on Sandy's list, she's now found things to do -- La Sagrada Familia, Picasso museum, hop-on-hop-off ...
Onward !
