Aug 27 - the hike

Featured activity of the day - laundry !  Yes, it eventually has to be.  The hotel desk found a laundromat about 2km away and of course we had to walk the extra km back to our car, adding 2km to that estimate ... however ... it wasn't really 2km in the first place and we ended up walking 6-7 km there, hoping against hope that when we finally got there, we'd actually find a laundromat !  We did !

Laundry completed, we started back and once we actually found a taxi stand (half-way), Sandy wanted to let the Euros do the walking instead of us  We did.

The rest of the day ?  Wandering around Malaga's historic district, window shopping, drinking (Sandy - Sangria, me water with gas) + lunch, then more wandering, then more drinking (wine + wine), then more wandering, then dinner + wine + wine.  We'll need to dry out soon !

I had another huge squid for dinner; I'm about squidded out.  I took pictures of our appetizers but forgot the main courses, so I won't bother posting.

Apart from the laundry, the other momentous activity was finally deciding on what we're doing about Tangiers,  well, at least partially so.  We are heading to Tarifa today and will book something for tomorrow.  The advantage of getting closer is that we don't have to put up with a long ride in Spain before the ferry.  The advantage of Tarifa is that the ferries go straight to Tangiers while the ferries from Algeciras hit a point on land in Morocco and then you have to take a bus ride to Tangiers.  We'll see if our hotel in Tarifa can help us nail this down. 

Two nights in Tarifa and then the plan is to move onto Portugal.  We've done a lot of driving so far and figure that we have about 3,000 km between here and CDG airport ...
