Aug 9 - last minute prep

1) go for a ride
2) retrieve cement mixer from Art
3) put away Sandy's car
4) finish packing
5) go for a test ride on one of Jason's dirt bikes (motorized)
6) check out Gavin's new speakers
7) change Verizon Wireless plans to include Global talk and data
8) finish packing (yes, I keep coming back to that)
9) double-check checklists, it wouldn't be the first time that I've developed a checklist and not gone through it.
10) have a drink at The Davies'

That pretty much sums things up.  That was yesterday the 9th.  The checklist in question is my bike-travel-packing checklist.

This is today, the 10th.  As usual there are some things strewn around that need to go into my carry-on, mostly electronics and such.  I've got to do some computer backups, as I take those with me.  Everything needs to be turned off, closed up, locked up -- house fans, gas, hot water, cold water, some breakers ... I have a checklist for that too ... and the house will go quiet.

Today we head to Sheryl and Jim's in Hemmingford.  Abby doesn't know that she's being left behind, but she'll be fine.  She won't have her buddy Sandy-doggie though, as she didn't make it through this year.

Abby is doing much better, thank goodness.  She's still got some residual stiffness from whatever she did or arthritis or old age, whatever.  The other residual issues are from the anti-inflammatory which caused itching, scratching, infection ... the antibiotic is taking care of that and the anti-itch that she's been on forever is helping that heal without her making that fester.  She's still getting the cone of shame on and off.
