Oct 24 - is this my new home ?

It was an easy drive from Princeton WV to New Smyrna Beach, other than the one hour delay due to an accident on I95 in SC.  Oh well.  When we went by the accident site, it looked like there had been  UHaul or something, because some people were out there with all their worldly goods by the side of the road with no vehicle in evidence.  Apparently the tow truck took the vehicle but not the contents ! 

Now after 6:30, we quickly unloaded the car, opened the shutters and got ready to go to the club for dinner.  We figured that puppy had been so good in the crate on the way down (only 2-3 stops the second day and not because she wanted to stop), that she'd be fine in the crate.  Not so.  She wailed loudly; we couldn't leave her.  Perhaps something else works ?

We put the crate back in the car, with puppy in it of course, and went over to the club.  We checked the car a couple of times while we ate (the window was open) and it was parked right by the Tiki; puppy was perfectly happy. 

Now we have to acclimatize puppy to crate in house ...

I dropped Sandy and puppy at the house and went over to Publix for some groceries.  When I got back, Chet and Jean were in chatting with Sandy.  They got back a couple of days ago.  Their dog Maddie (or Mattie) passed away just a couple of days before that, basically dying in Chet's arms from a suspected heart attack.

Ugh.  Grass is always greener thinking leads me to believe that it's better to not have to make a decision to end a life, but that's just because ...

Today ... don't know.  We've got tons of mail.  We have to start working on puppy so that she'll not go crazy if she's out of our sight.   She's transferred attention from Mom, Grandfather and 9 siblings to us !
