Nov 13 - keller etc

The highlight of the day, for me, was the visit with Dr. Keller.  I wasn't sure what she'd say about my cholesterol, up very slightly from last year, the ketones in my urine, my much elevated BUN etc.  Well, one glance at my labs and she knew that a) I was dehydrated; and b) I was on a low carb diet.  She had no problem at all with my cholesterol because the good is so high (95) and said that she wished that more of her patients would switch to a low carb diet because it would cure them of that belly fat that they don't understand why they can't lose.  I told her about my diet, i.e. two eggs every morning and she said that eggs are neutral as far as cholesterol goes.  Interesting.  She pronounced me fit as a fiddle (my term, not hers).  We talked as much about her health and traffic on Riverside as anything else !

Oh yes, I talked to Keller about my right big toe, which has been giving me problems and she recommended trying a chiropractor, which I will do this time.  I hadn't done anything last year.  If that doesn't help, then she'll send me to an orthopod.

That was the 2pm appointment.  On the way back, I stopped at the grocery store and then the eye doctor.  Unfortunately the latter was closed but they're open again this a.m. so I'll head over.

I'm getting this strange halo around bright lights, inside and out, when wearing my glasses -- which of course I do all the time.  Sandy tried wearing them and found the same thing so there must be some coating that has worn off, vs some issue with my eyes.  That's good !

Earlier in the day Sandy had her session with Jessica -- she's been doing quite well, has only missed one day at the gym, weekday that is.  I've got to get  back doing other types of exercises for the good of my back especially.

When Sandy was back, we headed out in the boat.  Cassie had a blast on the beach again.  Pretty soon she'll be excited about getting in the boat because it means beach.  These are short trips, easily done with the Skiff.  The original plan was to stop at the island half-way to our normal destination but there was no beach -- tide too high -- so we continued to the normal stop.  We had the island to ourselves upon arrival but by the time we got back to the boat, there were a couple of other boats and groups.

For dinner we had the lionfish that Sandy had picked up the day before along with potatoes (Sandy) and peas (both of us).  I've been grilling some Aubergine (I love that name vs eggplant) along with my dinners just to add something else on my plate.  A few slices with olive oil, salt and pepper is a nice complement.

That's about it; onward !

Oh yes, no sleeping on the floor last night.  Cassie was fine until this morning, that is.  I was up at 4am and at the computer, heard Sandy get up to use the bathroom and then Cassie barked.  Of course she knew that I was up -- dogs have good hearing -- and Sandy walks by her on the way to the ensuite.  I can see the laundry room in her future ...
