Dec 28 - a white Christmas

If you delay Christmas Dinner until it's white outside, I guess you have a White Christmas !

Unfortunately we were missing Aaron and Stef.  Stef had a problem with her eye on Sunday and tried some eye drops but it was worse on Monday and that took priority.  She found that her doctor's office was open, got an appointment and sure enough, had an infection requiring an antibiotic eye drop prescription.  Hopefully there will have been some improvement today !  Eyes are a priority, always.  Stef was disappointed that they couldn't be here and will keep an eye on the weather to see if a day later in the week will work.

I met Aaron in Parry Sound, picking up the girls, bags and presents.  Since I was there, we then picked up a couple of things at Sobeys and the five 6-pack cases of wine that had accumulated at the LCBO -- Opimian Society orders.  We hadn't ordered very much last year and it's noticeable in the wine cellar; there are actually empty slots !  Horrors !

Although it was a cold day, we did get out a couple of times, the girls and I (Cassie is one of the girls) having some fun in the snow.  Late afternoon Emma and Lauren took a couple of runs with the GT Snow Racers.  The wind was the issue, blowing that cold damp air right through you, but out of the wind, it wasn't too bad.

This morning, with more snow on the ground, I took Cassie for a walk.  She was bounding around; she had too.  In many places the snow is up to her chest; we've got close to a foot on the road.  Elsewhere, not so much -- only a dusting on the barbecue -- the wind decides where to pile the snow.  David will get out later and use the snow blower; no point right now as it's still coming down and blowing around.

We took the obligatory family picture (I'll post that later), opened presents, and had a great turkey dinner; Sandy's specialty.  We had all the usual fixings -- mashed potatoes, green beans, dressing, coleslaw ... Jeffrey did Aaron's mashing job.  We now have lots of leftovers; always good.  Lauren are now up to three turkey dinners for this season -- one at Stef's, one at John & Cheryl's (Aaron's Dad) and one here.  It's a tough life but someone has to do it !  Kylie wasn't back from exams yet for the dinner at Stef's.

I think that's all for the moment ... onward !
