It looked like we had an opportunity to get over to the island with Cassie so we packed up and got organized. Cassie and I went out to lower the boat ... oh oh ... the tide is so low already that there's not enough water. Low tide is still two hours away; that west wind is a killer !
So ... might as well take advantage of the day; I went biking. Although the wind was billed as SE it really was SW, sunny (mostly) and hovering around 68F. My long sleeved jersey was perfect for the occasion.
I've got to do something about the Garmin charging connection; will check that out today. The unit immediately shut off as I started rolling. It's time for either a replacement cable or, more likely, some contact cleaner. I wish that I could permanently attach a cable and seal it at the connection.
Before I went out, Jim Brendel came over with the window guy and they did their measuring. We are replacing the door in the powder room and the slider in the bedroom with windows. That's a necessary first step to raising that area and expanding the living space. The "gazebo" that isn't really a gazebo -- the screened-in area by those doors -- will be gone.
When I got back from my ride, Shane the paver guy was in the kitchen with Sandy; they'd been going over plans. He needs the survey from Joe Payne to finalize things and we need to see final drawings. We're not going to have 100 changes like next door. This is going to be plan and execute. I'm considering doing the driveway at the same time and have asked Shane to come back with economies of scale numbers for doing both projects.
Thanks to Vinny we had some very nice salmon for dinner. The freezer is still full of crab that we hope to use this weekend with Jason and Lorraine.
It's warmer this morning than it has been -- 56F -- but after today's expected thunderstorms move through the temperature is supposed to drop and we'll have a high of 49F ? Wow. That's accompanied by a low of 35F. It's not exactly beach weather ! It warms up again after that.
Onward ?
