We've been out a lot this year, thanks to having the skiff as well as the Hydra Sport. Yesterday was a HS day with Jim and Sheryl, out to the ocean as usual, to the island as usual -- Cassie running and running and running, giving the Chuck-It some good use. We then went to Inlet Harbor, as usual (we need to get out earlier and go to Caribbean Jack's for a change) and the dock attendant helped us get moored, positioning us so that there would be room for a BIG BOAT that was waiting for slack high tide to come in. How big, you ask ? 191 feet. Yikes !
We had a good lunch; Cassie tied in the boat on her leash. It will be a while before we'll be able to trust her to STAY. With high tide being a little ways off, I decided to head out to the ocean again and sure enough, that BIG yacht was out there. I was tempted to head down and take pictures but was easily convinced not to. I'm sure that boat is still moored at the restaurant; we could always go over and take a look.
I guess that if you are cruising around with a yacht that big you have to plan ahead ! Also, if you own a yacht that big you don't tend to cruise the ICW ? It makes me wonder where she was coming from (boats are normally feminine for some reason). Actually the owner probably doesn't have to do any planning. We were joking that the owner had probably already left the yacht in his helicopter.
Before our boating, Sandy and I went to the county health office in Daytona for our appointment and got our Hep A booster. We're now good for life, I believe. The only other shot that we didn't get last year that is recommended for Tanzania is Hep B but since we don't intend to re-use needles or exchange bodily fluids, we'll pass on that one ... We will need to get prescriptions from Dr. Keller for Malaria and altitude.
Still on the medical track, I finally got hold of the podiatrist's office and now have an appointment for next week. I'm still trying to see if someone, anyone, can help me with orthodics or something for walking and cycling.
The calendar is getting busy; I've updated the Blog calendar. Marda hasn't nailed her dates yet in April but we do have Jeffrey et al, David, Kim & Megan, Carol, a couple of dates with Jason et al, my bike rides etc. I have to start booking flights to Colorado, Seattle, Italy ...
It's going to be a busy year !
Onward !
