I'd contemplated riding yesterday but decided that I should save my legs for the Fleche. Besides, Jessica did put me through some leg work. I did go to the gym this a.m. and realized as I left there that I could also go on Friday morning, since no-one will be up that early ... perhaps that's pushing it !
IOS 9.3 is loading on my iPhone as I write this; hope that works out as I certainly need my phone.
The upstairs thermostat was refusing to connect to the internet yesterday; don't know why. I'd gotten a message from Honeywell around 5am and figured that it was temporary. Well, by mid afternoon it still wasn't connecting. I fussed with it, re-learning what I'd done a couple of years ago to setup these wifi thermostats. It still wasn't connecting so I went online and checked it out disconnected and reconnected ... still no luck. Well, last resort, I deleted the device at Honeywell and added it back ... success. That's a pain. It's the first time that's happened. I don't know if I'd be able to do that remotely, i.e. whether it was only a matter of doing the delete/add at the Honeywell end. The thermostat seemed connected to wifi the entire time so perhaps.
Cassie got a couple of walks yesterday. I didn't work on my bike -- will have to do that this a.m., not leave it for when there's a gang here.
Sandy did an incredible amount of cleaning yesterday, really getting at our bedroom/closets/bathroom which hardly ever get any work. It's always the guest bedrooms that get the attention. They're ready for tonight's brief onslaught. David flies in around 5pm -- he's already in Buffalo at a stay/park/fly Days Inn. I, of course, have to drive to & from St. Pete's today, one way with the X5; the other way with the rental.
I finally got hold of Amanda at Generac yesterday. She said that if I wanted a stop payment / reissue it would cost me. Wait, says I. I told you the mailing address but you sent it to the wrong one. She wanted a copy of the email -- and of course I had that -- people are always surprised when I have all these emails -- Dec 28 -- and she promised to get back to me later yesterday and of course she didn't. That's par for the course.
Her excuse for not getting back to me had been that she was in and out the last couple of weeks. Wait, I've been trying to get hold of you since Feb 15, says I, emails and voicemails. The only reason that I got her today was that I opted to bounce to an operator, asked if she still worked there, said that I'd been trying to get her since Feb 15 and wanted to talk to someone. Guess what, the operator found Amanda.
It may be time for another online review. This is crazy. Of course all that produced was promises and indignation.

Ok, the phone is on again. As usual, I have to turn off iMsg, which defaults to On for any IOS updates.
What else ... mind is blank ... oh yes, I decided to start on the lanai destruction. Jim Brendel is supposed to do that as part of his work but he was worried about the overhead glass. I figured that we could take care of that and we did. Being glass doors, vs glass in a frame, they're pretty strong and very heavy. They were only held in place with a half-dozen screws on each side and a lot of caulking. I was then able to slide them down and Sandy helped me lower them to the ground. They'd be easy enough for two people to move to the front, but not Sandy. It's the sort of thing that hurts her back/neck.
Jim will be here tomorrow -- Friday -- to start his work. I could have done the destruction, I suppose, and removal and re-attach the hurricane shutters, saved a little money, but I'm busy riding :).
Onward ... St. Pete-and-back-ward ...
