Apr 25 - selling

I sold the fat tire bike on Craigslist; I'm getting flooded with interest but it's gone !

The Lynskey frame, Easton fork, Shimano shifters and crankset just departed via UPS (I took them to UPS).

The Easton seatpost, Stargate SG1 DVD's, Stargate Atlantis DVD's, Law and Order DVD's, Shimano shoes, two Velo Orange racks ... all sold, departed by USPS.  Wait, no, I'm still awaiting payment on the Law and Order; he asked if he could make payment in one week.

If you think of what I paid for these things as sunk cost, then I'm making money.  If you think of it in terms of ROI, it's one crappy return on investment !

------

The fat tire bike was listed on Craigslist last night and gone early today.  People were in a rush !

------

So that was early in the day.  Jessica gave me such a workout, spinning at 120-200+ rpm, squat jumps, lunges, reverse lunges, leg press, quad lifts ... I must have sweated a gallon of water.  It will be interesting to see how I feel tomorrow going for a ride ...

Cassie and I went to the sandbar.  She's chases and chases and chases, and then I say "want to go for a swim ..." and she starts swimming out even before I've thrown the ball. The current is strong so I don't throw it very far, but she does get a workout.

I caught up on some online things -- membership list, banking etc.  We are going over to Gene and Judy's (next door) for a drink at 5:30.  They head off on a cruise across the pond, leaving Friday, so we won't see them until next October.

Speaking of Judy, I sent her a Facebook message this morning on something and the last one that was there was an exchange from when we were in France.  I said that Abby would be so happy to see us.  That was like being hit upside the head.  Ugh.

There's no question that Cassie is lovable and brings joy to our house, but can't replace Abby.

Sandy has spent a lot of the day weeding.  She's got a few more hours to go and then the garden needs mulch etc. -- before we leave and it gets totally out of control, that is !

-------

We chatted and snacked with Gene and Judy and weren't in need of a full meal.  I had a salad; Sandy scrambled some eggs for herself.

It had been baking day for me - bread and bars.  Ultra seedy bread and seedy bars, that is.  I've had some trouble with my seedy bread, too much rising and large bubbles.  I reduced the oil, which helped and this time I also reduced the yeast.  I'm now at 2/3 tsp of yeast, which seemed to do the trick.  I don't mind dense; big bubbles are a pain.

With my current diet, I have one slice of that bread toasted at breakfast, and that's it for bread for the day.  I also have two poached eggs.  For lunch, I usually have some meat or fish, sometimes not.  I usually have either a salad or cook some veggies -- either boiled, like peas, or stir fried which could be broccoli, brussels sprouts, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, okra, peas, etc.  I'll stir fry in coconut oil and then, to balance that flavor, use some Patak's curry or soya based sauce.  At dinner, I have whatever we're having, less the starch, but often add in some eggplant if I'm grilling.

Jessica is going to try the low carb approach after I gave her a book to read.  I warned her that she'll quickly drop 10 pounds from her 175 pound, all muscle frame.  She's done the body building thing and there are pictures of her at the club with muscles rippling, much leaner than she is now.  She's taller than me, broader shoulders, bigger frame; you wouldn't think that she's 175 pounds but she'd mentioned it in conversation at some point.

I've got two more things to mail -- Law and Order, for which I'm awaiting payment, and a package of Megan's that arrived yesterday that I'm shipping onward.  They were going to charge her an arm and a leg to ship it directly from the US.  It's a custom plush toy that she had made by someone, hand-written thank-you note inside the package and everything.

Onward ?
