No puppies for this puppy. She went to the vet yesterday and the deed is done. Right now she's twitchy, wanting to get at her incision. Hopefully the pain meds will kick in shortly to calm her down.
The original plan had been to wait until the Fall, have her go through one heat. Prevailing thinking is that this is better for them. However, as Dr. Cox said, who knows what "they" will say a few years from now; it's always changing.
Sandy didn't want her going into heat at Sheryl's and, in fact, it's inconvenient for her to go into heat period. Dogs, male dogs that is, will come from far and wide.
I went for a ride, using Sandy's "trial" Fitbit. I'm calling it a trial because she's going to return it. Interestingly enough, it counts pedal strokes as steps, so I added about 30,000 steps to Sandy's count for the day, which is about what I'd figured in terms of pedal strokes, doing a 70 mile ride. A faster, stronger rider would need fewer pedal strokes !
The heart rate graph is interesting. Not surprisingly, I ended up in the Fitbit's "peak" zone for the latter part of the ride. That's because I was dehydrated. Lower blood volume = faster heart rate.
So that was the big news for May 3rd ...
On the 2nd, we went to Best Buy to look at Apple Watches for Sandy but because of their sale, they only had one or two versions in stock. We ended up ordering online; it will be delivered today.
I know that I did more on the 2nd but it was mostly inconsequential (meaning I don't remember !).
Today we're off to Disney again, this time Hollywood Studios and dinner with the Davies. I'm not sure what time we'll leave, might be close to lunch time. We'll see. We're supposed to get some rain ...
Onward !
