May 26 - marginally better

Perhaps my taste buds are off.  The coffee this morning, Starbucks, tastes better than yesterday, but not much.  Then again, I've never been a fan of SB coffee -- other than cappuccino.  I'm not so much a fan of their cappuccino as it's the best thing that I can get on the road.  Of course, on the road, I'll drink anything -- McD's, Tim's -- weak, hot water with slight flavour.

I also had some of this SB coffee late yesterday as espresso.  It was better that way.  I should have stuck to espresso.

So ... it rained ... but I did get into town and pick up the mail, drop off almost $20 worth of wine bottles at the LCBO and pick up lettuce and cheese at Buchanan's.  I also stopped at Home Hardware, said hello to Steve and got some dielectric grease.  My satellite cable attenuation is climbing so I'm going to replace the connectors and use the grease, see if that helps.

Sandy started to do some work in the garden but then the rain started.  A break in the rain before dinner afforded some time for Cassie to fetch on the deck with the Chuck-It.

The compression plug arrived in the mail, finally, and I spent some time cutting the Titanium steerer to the correct size and then, of course, using the grinder to take off another 1/8" because I hadn't cut it short enough.  I've now got to finish up the work -- new shifters & cables, tape bars etc.  I also have a new seatpost to install; that's not much of a big deal.

Earlier in the day I did some work on the True North, adjusting the brakes, doing some cleaning and replacing the tires.  It's now ready to go for the brevet series next week, or as ready as it will ever be !  The only thing that I might do is consider putting on the fenders; I'll make that decision today.  From the looks of things, I'll definitely need them Thursday & Friday for the 600k; not likely on Tuesday for the 400k and perhaps on the weekend for the 200k & 300k.  I could leave it for now and do it on Wednesday, prior to the 600k ... that's also an option.

Sandy was going to start the invisible fence training with Cassie but the rain intervened.

That's about it ... not sure if I'll get around to blogging on the weekend, given all the riding.

Onward !
