Jun 12 - almost ready to roll

I did some more repacking of my bike, still trying to find the perfect setup.  We're going to get away early enough today that I can get to Niagara Cycle Works to pick up some case standoffs, which are really designed for the hard case but will work here too ... perhaps ... perhaps I should buy a hard case while I'm there !  This case has semi-hard sides but the weight is on the bike inside.

Where are these dang mosquitoes coming from ? I'm here in the kitchen, early a.m., and have already killed a couple and of course sustained a couple of bites.  Arrgghhh.

I took Sandy's car to Britt yesterday and it was much improved, so much so that I'm thinking that it's simply the rims out of round that are causing the wear.  There's no axle to get bent, per se, and these cars have four wheel independent suspension, so at this point I'm going to order new rims and tires from Jeff, assuming that he can come up with a reasonable price.  There would have to be a significant difference to make it worthwhile driving to Buffalo for the switch.  That said, I may get myself to Arnstein for 8:00 a.m. today to talk face-to-face with Jeff.  We want to get out of here before 11:00 a.m.

I've got my clothes all packed, as does Sandy ... mostly.  The bike is in the car, but that's all.  Take-along food has to be organized, the rest of the luggage into the car, some minor close-up activities (have to look at my checklist), my just-before-leaving shower (always), but not much else.  Cassie's stuff needs to be loaded too, I cannot rely on her to take care of herself !

It was windy on 522 yesterday, blowing like crazy, but not as noticeable from the cottage; wind in a direction that wasn't producing huge waves out front.  I didn't go out in the boat, so I have no idea what it looked like on Smith's Bay.

What else ... that's about it.  We're booked into La Quinta in Batavia; that's the destination for the day.

Onward ?  I'll think of something else once I hit "Publish".
