We watched some of the international canoe water polo championships here in Siracusa, Sicily. Very interesting. They've got more than a half-dozen courts going at one time and it's men and women.
In the following two pictures, the Iranian women are battling the French.
There are teams from all over the world.
The market is to die for. Fruit, vegetables, fish, olives and spices -- reminds me of Tangiers Morocco.
We wandered around the island again, sitting and watching the activity on the water then having lunch. We lazed the afternoon away then wandered again, finding a place for dinner. The people at the next table were from Pittsburgh; they asked me to take a picture of them and then volunteered to take a picture of us ... it turned out pretty well. In the right circumstances, the iPhone takes great pictures.
Another day was done. It's morning again and today we head to Marsala at the extreme west end of Sicily. We'll have to start making our way north soon. We already have a booking in Mestre / Venice, for the night of the 10th as we fly on the 11th. Fall is coming.
Onward !
