Nov 5 - on water and land

Steve and I took Cassie out with the Skiff to the sandbar at the South Causeway.  The water was high; she ran around in about 3" of water and had a blast; certainly she didn't get muddy !

Pam gets motion sickness, so we didn't opt for a day on the water.  I think that she would have been ok with the east wind, but who knows.

Later, the four of us cruised Flagler on our feet, hitting some of the usual stores.  Parking was busy because with the tide so high, there was no beach parking.  We found a spot, however, a block over and made do.  Later, for dinner, we went to the Fusion place but this time found an open spot right across the road.

Otherwise it was pretty quiet.  The calm before the election storm, or the calm before the construction storm, take your pick.  Construction, or rather destruction, starts tomorrow !

I did do some work on the drywall around the new master bedroom window -- tape and mud.  There's a lot to do there but in some ways easier due to the larger area.  We shall see.

I dutifully turned my cell phone to silent in church today and then an Amber Alert came through.  I hurriedly turned it off and chuckled to myself later when I heard  alerts come through on other phones.  Those alerts -- Amber, tornado and the like, push through anything other than a completely turned off phone.

I hope to get out on the bike today.  Steve and Pam left while I was at Mass, on their way to Rocky Mount NC, about half-way for them.

Onward !
