Jan 15/16 - packed and upward

By the end of Sunday we were pretty much ready to roll save minor last minute stuff-in-bag items like electronics. Sheryl and Jim took us out for dinner at the renamed PJ's Sea Shack - they dropped PJ along the way it seems !

Monday a.m. Sandy went the gym and corrected my malaria prescription orders for both of us with our doctor - not enough pills- and we picked those up on the way out of town.

We'd opted to use rental cars to and from Miami so Jim shuttled me over to Avis. There's no drop off charge so it cost the same amount as parking without the attendant hassle.

We were at the airport in good time but it's surprising how that time gets whittled away with check-in, security, finding an Irish pub for a late lunch, a little waiting and then boarding which started over an hour before flight time.

We were unlucky enough to be jammed three into three seats; three are many empty. That makes the 13.5 hour flight more onerous.

Although Qatar is rated number 5 out of all airlines, we are not impressed. Service is good but food is very limited, the bathroom closest to us is out of supplies and the sink is plugged. Oh well.

We are land in 3 more hours. We are somewhere over the Arabian peninsula right now. We in North America are used to thinking that all these countries are quite small but not so.

Onward !
