Dec 22 - scouting a tree

Lots of ice. Cassie and I crossed the lake and I drilled numerous holes to check the thickness. It varied from 6" to 10". Wow.

Returning, I suggested that we look for a tree but not cut it yet. Sandy had her lunch and off we went. I think that we've got it nailed. We will do the cutting, hauling, standing today.

Shorter, right ? I hope !

Opimian has been in touch with the local LCBO informing then that we do indeed pay bottle deposits. I loaded up the car with a year's worth of wine bottles and made a Port Loring run scoring $19. 95 bottles ? Ok that must only be six months :).

They didn't check UPC's this time. They "got the memo". I spent that much in fuel with a couple of runs into Port Loring to deal with these. It's all about keeping them out of the dump.

The temp is hovering just under 20F. Sandy decided to roast coffee. E4. Dang. I'm constantly working on these roasters. PO'd, I did something else but then gave up and dismantled the toaster, multimeter in hand. What now ?

Checking voltage and resistance in a couple of places - oh oh - the fan isn't working. I've got many spare parts but not a fan. Dang.

More dismantling and I pulled the fan. It was completely choaked up. Doing some cleaning to get it spinning and then plugging in, voila. Ok, more cleaning and then reassembled, Sandy will try again.

I'll have to think about what spare parts I want at hand / in inventory.

Onward, I hope !
