Jan 25 - lining them up

We spent some time yesterday looking at the calendar and potential travels this year.  Brazil, Spain/France/Italy, Japan, Australia, Israel - they're all on the docket.  The question is, how much can the body take, and I don't mean just riding but traveling.  I also had a lot of back and forth texting with Shab about being in South Florida next week, Thursday, having lunch with her before she heads to MD.  I've got a couple of reasons to be down in the Boca area and it seemed like an opportunity to get together so we're pretty much set.  Sandy may or may not come down; if she does, Cassie will get a day of traveling and visiting :).

I'm also pretty much set to do Paul's 300k pre-ride on Tuesday.  As usual, it's going to be a busy week.

We went for a walk on the lake to take a look at the new cottage.  It's stuck in limbo, it seems, missing some siding, electrical work not complete with wires dangling everywhere outside; I've got many questions.  The main floor footprint is larger than the basement, leaving what appears to be the living room with an open area underneath.  No matter how it's insulated, that will be cool in the winter but then of course we don't know how much they'll use it in the winter.  It's a big place but hard to tell the total square footage.  It's probably larger than ours.

I fussed with some LED track light floods.  They put out more light at a given dimmer voltage than the halogen versions, which is interesting when there's a halogen light on the same dimmer as in the hallway leading to our bedroom.  These floods are also just a little too long.  I'll have to check in Home Depot to see if there's a slightly shorter version.  I'm glad that I didn't order enough of them to replace all the track lighting floods.  I want to replace the ones up high and also add a couple more floods on each side of the highest tracks.  I'm not as concerned with the lower, more accessible floods.

I've packed up stuff to take to Toronto today with one box in the car already, leftovers from the 2017 Granite Anvil.  I'm getting rid of glasses, t-shirts and hoodies at the dinner on Saturday night - a silent auction for the apparel.

That's about it.  Our plan is to see Stef on the way south, get to Sandy's hair appointment for 3pm, stay at the Harbour Castle, having dinner with the Samji's (that came together late yesterday) ... no sitting still for this pair !

Onward !
