Feb 11-14 - more days slipping by

There's nothing that triggers writing a blog these days and sometimes the days just go by ....

Feb 11-13 were unremarkable.    I did stuff.  I didn't ride.  More work on RUSA insurance, review of RUSA taxes, tons of emails, a few phone calls, somehow the days went by.

I've been seeing Dr Wendy, the chiro.  I'm not sure if she's helping my lower back but then again, I don't know what it would be like without her.  I had a rough weekend and it's a little better now.  Exercises don't help.  Once, just once, riding was tough - that's new and a bad sign.  Ultimately I'll need hip and back work, I guess, but will hang in as long as possible.

Yesterday, back and all, I did work on the dock.  I doubt if sitting in the bottom of the boat drilling into one of the support posts at max torque was good for me.  In fact, I can say that I'm sore this morning in several places.  I cut 9" off one of the posts after dropping the dock down.  The near post could have been dropped an inch or so but I was done.  The dock is fairly level now or at least as level as any dock that you see out there.  The only truly level docks are floating :).

I'm finding that the deck screws that I put in have disintegrated, where they're exposed to the salt water in the wet wood.  Mostly those were screws where they weren't holding much anyway.  I might pick up some stainless screws and add them but the surface planks aren't going anywhere at the moment.

We were going to have dinner at the new sushi place with Jim and Sheryl but she wasn't feeling up to it so Sandy and I went anyway.  All decorated with heart balloons, valentine's day was in full swing.  It was actually good.

Onward !
