With any luck, I get out on the bike every second day so the days come in pairs. It doesn't always work out that way, depending on activities and weather but that's the ideal. This week just happened to work out.
Tuesday was a catch-up-on stuff day and Wednesday was a ride day. I got out shortly after getting back from Dr. Wendy and raced the thunderstorms back home, staying dry. A quick shower followed by a boat ride to the sandbar gave Cassie some exercise and then Sandy headed off to get her toes done. When she got back we went to the club for the usual Wednesday "quiet" time. It wasn't quiet. The parking lot was packed with book clubbers and the bar was full. We ate at a table. Nothing on the menu inspired me so I had them simply grill some salmon. That wasn't inspiring either ... Atlantic Salmon never is by itself.
I did some bike maintenance on Tuesday, replacing a worn chain, rear derailleur and rear tire that had lots of small cuts. I was going to start getting flats soon. The RD had a pulley that was gravelly as it turned, beyond maintenance. That RD saw the sandstorm in Israel and lots of additional miles. With both the chain and RD replaced, shifting was noticeably better. The cassette is still in good shape; was tempted but didn't replace that.
I need to replace the brakes before the front squealing drives someone else crazy, not just me !
Onward !
