Mar 12 - Amex must love me

Disney World, Car Rentals, Flights, not to mention day-to-day items such as groceries, fuel etc.  Cameras don't matter; Amex knows not only WHERE I am most times but WHERE I'LL BE in the future.  My BofA Visa gets some exercise too when we're traveling as it's more universally accepted but Amex gets most major items.  I do use the points on both, but that's small potatoes, 1% of spend.

Yesterday was no exception.  Amex knew where we were heading - Disney - the route I took, fueling up at the Murphy, Sunpass records my transit on 528, Disney records my arrival as they scan my magic band; Amex knows that I went straight to the Starbucks and then we ate at Spice Road Table after the concert.

Sandy met me at SB's.  She had gone ahead with the kids and did some rides with them, including Test Track that she said that she wouldn't.  We wandered a bit and then grabbed a drink and sat down 1:45 before the 5:30 pm show, awaiting Jon Anderson (Yes).  He did a bit of a show an hour before as they balanced Mic's; looked like he was having fun.  He's an old Rocker at this point; the voice is still there but without the strength that I can hear on the Yes albums.  However, since those tracks are laid down individually in a studio, it's hard to know what they might have sounded like Live in their heyday.  I'll have to check YouTube to see if I can find any concerts.

So, a half hour out there early on and then a half hour set; that was it.  Fun.  He sang some Yes standby's - Owner of a Lonely Heart, Roundabout and a couple of others.  The acoustics in the place are terrible :).

We ate inside at Spice Road Table; usually we eat outside.  Sandy had tuna, which was spicier than she expected; I had the lamb. I'd asked for rare and there's no doubt it was rare - blue would have been a better description.  We started with the Calamari, which they do a nice job on.  We had a Moroccan Cabernet ...

SRT is one of the few, if not the only, sit down restaurant that you don't need reservations for.  Everything else was booked solid.  The park was packed; the queue for bag check/inspection coming in must have been 50 deep at each inspection point, a HUGE number of people, and that was mid afternoon.

I left after dinner and was home by 9:15; Sandy hung out for the kids who had fastpasses for Soarin, expecting them to want to stay for Illuminations but they were tired.  I can't believe it - young people tired ?  What's the world coming to ?  They were home about an hour after me.

I think that today we're going to Main Street with the noisy bikes (well, mine is noisy; Jim's is quiet).

Onward !
