Time passes. We worked our way to FRA and gradually reduced the number of car rentals, saying farewell at breakfast in the Sheraton at the Frankfurt airport. My flight home went well and I've since talked to and/or exchanged messages with Shab, Hamid, Greg, Mark and Stephen. The latter two were still in Europe with spouses; not sure about their travel plans to home.
I picked up Sandy's car at Park 'n Fly and headed north, getting to Stef's early afternoon, picking up Cassie, stopping at Sobey's in Parry Sound for some basic groceries and arriving at the cottage in time to unload and have a beer, one, with the neighbors. Jason, Lorraine & Kim left yesterday (Friday); Mike, Jill and their two kids are leaving today. By the sounds of things, JL&K will be back up on Wednesday, depending on whether they bring L's Dad Stan up. They're celebrating his 90th today ... wow.
Of course Cassie has been very active, running around with Chili and Noodles ...
Sandy left Reading on Wednesday, stopping and staying overnight at Stef's that night. She made it here on Thursday after me (I went into Sudbury for a Vet appointment for Cassie and a stop at Costco), so the house is full of kids now. Lauren has joined Emma, Zoe and Matthew to make for a busy place. They've been busy swimming and playing on the beach; the only one who would rather stay inside most times is Zoe. They're all good kids ... but then aren't most grandkids good ?
Sandy is hoping to make a quick trip to Sudbury today with Lauren and Emma; not sure that will happen. She has to be back in time for me to go to Mass in Loring.
The bike is back together and I've rebuilt that rear wheel. I replaced the broken spokes and mostly eliminated any hopping. I doubt if I'll trust it for France but will ride it around here. I've been busy planning for the 1000k that will take place on the long weekend; will probably take it there and ask Arthur to carry a spare. What the heck.
I need to get out on the bike for some exercise but that won't happen today. I'll have a couple of the kids with me and we're supposed to get some showers.
Onward !
