But first, dinner with Wolfgang and Evi and their Burmese Mountain Dog. We arrived around 4:30. They went way out of their way for us and then we rushed off, Sandy worried because there was fine print about the hotel registration closing at 6pm. However, the restaurant was hopping, we went down for some wine and cheese ... all was good.
The next am, Sunday, I walked uphill to church and then we headed to Berlin. 6 hours took 8 with construction delays and we had dinner close to our hotel, back to our room close to 10 pm.
Sandy was a little unnerved by the speed of the traffic when she took a turn at the wheel. Yes, my eyes were tired and I closed them for a half hour or so. The autobahn really moves. Things happen quickly. When not in delays, we cruised at 130-145 but cars wizzed by close to 200, by my guesstimate. A bmw would have been more solid on the toad than our Renault Captur.
Today we hit checkpoint Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate. 7+ miles of walking later, I was wiped.
Tomorrow some more city exploring on foot and then a musical. What would knee see in Berlin ? Why Cabaret of course !!
Tonight we will find a Biergarten. Sausages.
Onward !
