Dec 17-20 - cold spell

Very cold.  Not like a few years ago when it was -38 but it did hit -15 this year.  From what I see in the forecast, that might be the lowest that we'll see.  Tomorrow it's supposed to get up to 40.  Go figure.

In the midst of that we headed to Toronto, actually Oakville, expecting an easy day's drive.  Not so.  On the 400 south of Barrie we were enveloped in snow.  On the way home, that section was closed and we had to divert & divert etc.  There must have been a serious accident.  Slow crawl ... the day turned into an odyssey.  It would have been 10 hours anyway with driving, dentist appointments and a couple of errands, but was more like 12.5 hours.

So I've now got two new crowns, the left side of my mouth complete.  There are three more to do on the right side - one lower and two upper.  My mouth is worth more than the rest of me, but of course no one will buy it.  Sandy has a temp which will be capped next week.

Sandy went into Sudbury yesterday, a solo trip.  Today, Saturday, we'll have company.  David & Vanda are coming this morning; Angelika and Said later.  Said is a teen in high school.  His parents moved back to Oman and he's living with Angelika to finish high school.  That's a complete lifestyle change for AS !

While Sandy was in Sudbury, Cassie and I went out several times but she doesn't last long.  Snow gets packed between her toes.  When it's really cold, it isn't very long before she's hopping on three feet.  I doubt if she'd wear booties - we tried that on Abby once and no go.

Today, with help, it's tree day ...

Onward !
