Feb 27 - long, long day at Disney

The girls and Matthew spent a very long day at Animal Kingdom.  It sounds like they hit all the majors - Kilimanjaro, Avatar, Everest and Lion King - probably more but that's what I heard from Sandy.  They weren't back until 10pm.  I'm betting that the kids will be awake and up at the usual time though.

I did get Cassie and Jenny over to the sandbar.  Jenny didn't run quite as much because there weren't as many birds overhead.  The hardest part of dealing with Jenny was once back home ... she knew quite well that I was going to hose her off and raced up to the house to get away.  I had to go there and bring her back by the collar :).  Then I had to hose Cassie's legs off twice more as the two of them romped.  They're definitely having too much fun !  They're going to be lonely when Sheryl moves into her rental today, Friday.   She's getting it a couple of days early because the prior renters are supposed to be out.  She has the place until the end of March, Sheila and Marvin will be with her at the tail end of that and then the three of them ... four if you count Jenny ... will drive back to Hemmingford.

Coronavirus updates make me wonder if I'll actually get to Japan in April.  South Korea infections have exploded.   It will depend on whether Japan is effective in containing the existing cases AND there's been no infected traffic from some other country.  Here in the US, it wouldn't take much for community infections to take hold.  One hopes not but it could simply be a matter of time.

In other bad news - my cousin Bobbie, now recovering from the operation removing most of, but not all of, the cancer in her cerebellum, is officially stage 4.  Prognosis isn't great, obviously.  I have no idea whether it's a treatable stage 4 that could go on for years or aggressive.  It's people like her, with suppressed immune systems (and us old folk), who will be most at risk if coronavirus takes hold.

Google obviously isn't keeping up with the times.  It flags coronavirus as a spelling error.  I hear that people are afraid of ordering products made in china ... and of drinking Corona beer.  More signs of the times.  Rampant stupidity.

Cool this a.m.  Jeffrey, Sara and Emma will be sailing back into this area today and I will be picking them up tomorrow, Saturday, morning.

Onward !
