Yes it does. Time goes by and projects get started and finished.
The deck, of course, was completed. The house has also been completed. On my list was re-roofing the garage and the woodshed ... the steel roofing was delivered on Thursday and I installed same on Friday. The woodshed is complete; the garage still needs a million screws but the roofing is well anchored. In fact, I haven't yet tapped into the screws that were delivered, still using up the ones from roofing the barn (the big garage), 15 years ago.
The woodshed was relatively easy. 14 pieces 3'x6', plus the peak. The garage was much harder. First of all the steel was delivered on the ground by the woodshed. 2nd of all there were 18 pieces 3'x15.5' - awkward and heavy to move carrying down the driveway, stand up leaning against the garage, up the ladder and then haul onto the roof, maneuver around and then anchor with one screw at the peak.
800 pounds of steel is now in place. It took some juggling as well, as the garage wasn't quite square. I had some overlap so I could have made adjustments afterwards but I really didn't want to cut all that steel so I made the best compromise possible with the gable and the edges.
The delivery guy asked who was going to do the installation ....................... I'll get up there today and put in another thousand screws, since I have two bags of 500 .... no, it won't take that many
Both roofs were badly in need of the re-roofing. Had I pulled off the shingles, I expect that I would have had to replace a lot of the plywood on the garage; the OSB on the woodshed. The shingles were falling apart on the garage - it must be 35-40 years.
I've ordered steel for the little garden shed. What the heck. It's comparatively tiny and has a lean-to roof, not a gable.
In the meantime, Sandy went to Barrie, stayed overnight, and saw Lauren, Kylie and Stef - individually. Dinner with Lauren, meetup with Kylie at her apartment, visit with Stef, veggies in Parry Sound and then home.
In the NSB mail is my driver's license renewal. Hmm. Well, we should be in NSB to take care of that before my birthday. Sandy checked hers ... also expires this year but will expire before we get back. So she won't be driving after her birthday in October, unless there's some way of renewing online but I believe that this was the time for a picture replacement. I'll be checking online.
The weather has gotten way cooler and way wetter. It's about 45F out there now. I'm looking forward to Florida weather. Even chili isn't keen on doing any more than dipping her feet in the water. I know that Cassie would swim but I don't intentionally throw the ball in the water.
Onward ?
