Feb 10-Mar 1 - wrapping up Feb

February has gone. Regular riding, Jason et al arriving and leaving, a little of this and that and the month is over.

Capped by a 300k in Athens GA on Feb 26, my riding seems to be going ok. I drove up, 7 hours, on the 25th, stayed at an awful hojo, finished up in 15:56, back to the hojo and then home on Sunday.  35F out of the city to start, it warmed up later but my leg warmers stayed on all day. The garmin recorded 10k of climbing.

On the way back I stopped in Macon GA for Mass. Much to my surprise in this very red state, every single person wore a mask. Everyone. It was amazing. Here in New Smyrna, we're down to a couple at most at a Sunday Mass.

The drive underscored the need to do the brakes on the X5. The parts are now in the garage awaiting my pleasure.  It's a chore. The wheels weigh a ton and I can barely lift the front rotors.

I have some Bont shoes that I'm evaluating. They seem to fit except that the hard leather cuts into my front tendon area of my feet. My old Shimanos are soft there. I'm not sure that they're going to work.  Have to ponder some more before marking up the shoes on a ride and making them unreturnable.   Is there such a thing as a cobbler anymore?

Yesterday the new bathroom counter and sink went in. 1000% better. A couple of days earlier I had de-plumbed and after installation, I re-plumbed.

Somewhere in there we also saw Alvin Ailey in Orlando. Thoroughly enjoyable. Dinner was salty…

The pace is ramping up. We have a busy 7-10 days ahead of us.

Onward.
