Mar 25-31 - a record month

400k is my least favorite distance, but, I did 3x400k's in March. I wimped out and didn't do the south Florida 400k or else I'd have racked up 4.

The most notable of the three was the Audax version last weekend. With an 8am start and a 7am finish, it was only 15 minutes longer than the first 400k but a lot easier. Of course it was also flatter, had 2x1.5 hour meal stops and featured group vs solo riding.

Next up is the central Florida 600k on April 9.  Now we're getting serious.  That's the big ride for April before I head into 1200k and travel season.

Jerry met me in Gainesville for the start of the middle 400k but had no intention of doing that ride. He went out with Scott and Susan for a short ride and hung out. We then went to NSB and got in some weekday riding before the Audax 400. Unfortunately Jerry crashed in the parking lot after dinner and banged up his hand. With that swelling, he abandoned the 400 as it was affecting braking and shifting.   Bummer.  Back at our place, he got some sleep and headed home.

I know that I'm spilling into April but I wrapped up the rusa tax return on the 1st and I'm now ready to e-file, now an IRS mandate. I'll give it a few days to see if any board members have comments.

We are making plans for Madrid in May, Italy in June, France in July, UK in August … time will tell if all this works out.

Frank and Nancy aren't doing well. I talked to Nancy yesterday. Frank was sleeping. I don't know how much longer Frank can fight this. Nancy has heart issues. I'm afraid that either could go any day. Their son Bill is keeping me posted.  I've half a mind to jump in the car and go up but likely won't. It weighs on me.

Onward.
