We arrived in Beckley WV just before 6pm ... within minutes, Sandy had the bottle of wine open. It was an easy drive, 7.5 hours elapsed time from the Costco in St. Catharines where we stopped after leaving Stef's. There was no wait at the border and temps were from 40F to 55F all the way so the roads were clear. Cruise control at 7mph over the speed limit the whole way, only saw a couple of speed traps but they ignored us.
There was snow in the forest all the way down to Beckley, however, and one of the rivers that we passed over just north of Beckley was frozen. We hit this just right because it's supposed to snow here later today. Already this morning there is frost in the air -- time to blow this burg ! It was 55F last night when we walked over to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner and it's 30F now, going down to 18F tonight.
It's going to 72F in NSB today and similar weather in the next few days. I guess that I'll be giving my butt and legs a workout, back on the bike !
We're having our coffee ... about to hit the road.
