Apr 23 - busy day in PA

... and not just for me !

Sandy got to catch up with many friends -- Marda, Mariadella, Peg, Pam, Bettie; she had her ob/gyn appointment and mamogram, did some clothes shopping -- in short, enjoyed herself.

I fixed the trailer lights -- purchasing another set -- replaced the expensive LED live-forever lights that had succumbed to the salt water (they're not supposed to !) with cheap incandescent lights that work. I went to Home Depot and picked up another bin for transporting stuff in the boat, packed that so that we're mostly ready; I went to Wal-Mart and picked up some diet pepsi and crackers ... and hot sauce. I went to Performance Bike and returned some stuff, bought some more good shorts, gloves and some tubes that were on special.

I helped Jeffrey and Sara cleaning up some post-move trash, walked Abby several times, got my bike and clothes organized for tomorrow's ride, and then met Jeffrey and Sara and Emma as they returned at the end of the day. We went over for the mail -- including Abby -- giving Emma lots of "whee" rides along the way with Jeffrey and I lifting her by the arms.

I then headed off to Athena Pizza at the intersection of Boot Road and Paoli Pike -- a pizza place that Sandy and I had found a few months ago. As before, I had the Greek salad and Athena Pizza (we split the pizza). Sandy and Mariadella had the same; Leonas had the antipasto salad that also looked good -- meat vs a half-pound of feta cheese.

While at dinner we heard from Jeffrey that he and Sara were off to the hospital emergency / urgent care because a 7 foot mirror had dropped on Sara's foot. They were worried that it was broken, but it wasn't. Emma went behind the mirror, which was standing on the floor, leaning on the wall -- knocked it down, causing the excitement. Luckily no one was badly hurt ! It could have been a lot more serious. Sara is sitting beside me now, foot wrapped, ice pack on foot ...

Is that enough ? I hope so. It's 10:58 right now, I'm in danger of being up after 11 pm -- actually there's no way that I'll be in bed before then ...
