Jun 12-14 - constantly behind !

It seems that I'm constantly behind in blogging these days.  It's all the cycling stuff.  It's not that it's a huge amount of work but there's always something going on -- the occasional email, some transactions to handle, a quick phone call here and there, etc.

It's Thursday already.  Jason, Lorraine and Gavin left late afternoon yesterday; Gavin and Amanda will be up on the weekend.  We won't see J&L again until I'm back from Italy and Sandy is back from PA.  This summer is going to fly by.

The weather has been beautiful but the bugs are still here. The black flies are on the downslope; the dragonflies taking care of them.  Another day or two and I think that they'll not be noticeable ... but of course we will be gone.  Mosquitoes are a problem all day long unless you're either in full sun or in the wind.  They'll die down if the weather continues dry but so far that's not the case.

Sandy got out in her kayak yesterday during a lull in the wind.  It's been pretty bouncy out there.  She's been doing a variety of housecleaning chores.

We've got some driveway ants making a nest in the beams in the loft.  Either that or they are tiny carpenter ants.  I did find where they're coming in and sprayed outside and laid down three types of bait inside, so hopefully that will take care of them.  The yard outside is covered with little anthills, so it's no surprise that they've also moved into the "bunkie".    I also sprayed the outside anthills.

I've mounted new tires on my bike -- 35's -- and did a short test ride on Osprey Road.  I'm planning on doing a real ride today and will then declare them OK for the trip to Italy.  I fly Tuesday ... so much to do between now and then !

Tomorrow we head to Toronto, picking up Lauren on the way and meeting up with Kylie, on the way to Swan Lake.

I'm sure that there's more to write but that's enough for now.

Onward !
