Jul 1 - in recovery

It turned out to be a relatively busy day. Up early, I broke down my bike then went for breakfast. After that, I packed it, struggling as usual to get the fork in. I should really do this a half dozen times before reassembling thus actually developing some "muscle memory". You'd think that my frame would fit better than most, as I'm a smaller person, but with the classic level top tube I have to pull the fork. Had I realized the design consequence I might have made a different decision.

I hung around the room a bit afterwards and heard from Shab that she was heading out to do Hamid's cycling laundry so I eagerly handed mine over.

Later still I met Hamid in the lobby and we had a snack. Mark Thomas got back to me re dinner and we met that gang st 7:30.

By then it was going on 11pm and I crashed until 6, had breakfast, went to mass, caught Hamid and Shab for a second breakfast, took my reserved car to the airport, checked in and now I'm having lunch.

Whew !

I'm going to miss the coffee and the mozzarella but life goes on. It's hard to believe that tonight I'll be a half world away with Sandy, Cassie, Kylie & her friend, Emma and Zoe.

This is a crazy life but someone has to do it !

Onward !
