Gavin set his wedding date to Mike's birthday, because Mike had gotten married on Gav's birthday. The joke was that he had to wait until Mike's birthday was on a Saturday and he'd set the date even before he met Amanda ....
Sara was much more practical; she wanted a memorable date, picked 8/9/10 and it didn't matter what day of the week that fell on :).
Earlier in the day, I caught up with a number of things -- bought a bluetooth mouse that I'm not happy with (but that only became evident later), new dress shoes that I'm quite happy with (more important than the mouse), got a haircut and washed the car. That's not bad for me.
The wedding was set for 3:30 on the 2nd floor of the hotel; reception on the 1st -- very convenient. The rain took a pass for a bit so that the ceremony could be held outside. It was very well done; the hotel did a great job -- ceremony, reception, food -- from our perspective, it went without a hitch. It was good to catch up with our tablemates -- Pete and MaryJoe and Emily, Jason's Aunt Eva and Bob and Sandy Szoke. I was at their wedding; heaven only knows why I was invited so, so many years ago.
It was a great evening; a good time. We went back upstairs to our room as time crept towards 11pm; late for me.
