Jul 23 - on the road ... still

I went to Mass in Hamilton, just 2kms from the hotel.  Advertised as 8:30 on their website, it was changed to 9 for the summer.  I wasn't the only one showing up early; I just hung out, had a little quiet time.

Back at the hotel, Sandy had already had breakfast and I wasn't hungry.  I had felt really overstuffed, bloated, the night before and had made several trips to the bathroom.  That feeling continued most of the drive to Hemmingford necessitating a few stops along the way.  I'm crossing my fingers and toes this morning as I feel somewhat better now.

I'm figuring that it was the powdered chicken soup that I had found in the cupboard and consumed at the hotel.  It's ages old; wouldn't have thought that powdered soup, with so much salt, could go "off", but who knows.

Otherwise, it was an easy drive albeit heavy traffic in Toronto.  I started heading to the 401 and the sign warned about slowdowns, so we took the 407 instead.  For a summer weekend drive, it was pretty easy going, all in all.

We got to Hemmingford around 6pm vs the Nav ETA of a little after 5pm -- that's due to the multiple stops.  Cassie was happy to get here and I gave her some ball chucking exercise out the back.

Since I was last here, Jim and Sheryl have completed two major projects -- converting a large walk-in closet into an ensuite for their bedroom and converting the sort-of gazebo out the kitchen side door into a permanent 4 season room.  Both upgrades have worked out really well.

So ... it's time to go online and do the boarding pass thing.  Sandy has an errand in Plattsburgh today but that's not a long drive.  Our flight isn't until almost 10pm.

This time tomorrow we'll be on the ground in London ... wiped out.

Onward !
