This could obviously get monotonous for the reader, but it was another good day for a training ride. A little more work than usual, since the winds were mostly calm on the way out but in my face on the way back at about 7-10 mph. The winds were even stiffer when I was riding east to west along the road off Merritt Island -- I took a new route today, south onto the island, the headed west stopping at the visitors center, then continuing west to US 1, then north. I knew what the winds were going to be like heading out - it just makes for a longer ride, but that's ok.
It was a little cool so I wore my vest again for the first 26 miles. I had to stop for the drawbridge in the park and shed my vest at that point.
Nutrition -- I did not eat enough or drink enough today. My weight was down to 137.5 from 140.2 a couple of days ago. I really should have stopped and bought some gatorade. Water -- 3+ bottles; Cliff Bar -- 1; Carb-boom gel -- 2.
Ride Stats -- 78.5 miles; 16.8 mph average.
