Vic the kitchen guy came this morning with a check to give to the granite place and we gave a check to Vic -- we're committed now to the kitchen reno. Sandy went off to Orlando to look at granite and I went out for a ride. The granite slab didn't turn out to be anything like the sample piece so Sandy is now trying to find granite that she likes.
I rode north, turning around at 40 miles for an 80 mile ride. There is a Hess gas station at 35 miles that I use as my liquid replenishment stop on the way back (which would make it 45 miles). I brought my rain jacket just in case, since scattered showers were predicted, but made it back just in time -- it rained fairly heavily on and off for an hour or so right after I got home. I could see the showers out on the ocean as I was heading back and was worried that they might catch me but I got lucky. There was a strong ENE wind that ended up being fairly neutral.
After getting home I went to the boat supply place to pick up the trailer jack for Jason. While there I also picked up LED lights for the trailer which I will install prior to heading north along with a new connector since the old connector is corroded and sometimes does not work well. The advantage of the LED lights is a) less battery drain and b) they never burn out. Next door to the boat place is Pep Boys and I picked up jack stands for the M5 to get the weight off the tires when we leave and some oil for both the M5 and X5 -- both of them needed oil today -- I'm going to get an oil change on both before we leave.
Ride stats -- nutrition 3 bottles of water; 1 cliff bar; 3 gels; 1 small bag of mixed pretzels etc. -- 80.4 miles; 17.2 mph.
