Sandy went into Toronto on the 5th while I did a variety of misc things around the place, including riding on the trainer for about 3 hours. boring. The trainer makes Florida exciting -- but it's well below freezing outside and I don't ride well in snow. I'm watching movies, but you sweat like crazy on the trainer, even though it is cool in the basement.
On the 6th, more of the same for the morning, except Sandy spent most of her time cleaning up, getting ready for Jason and Lorraine to arrive -- which they did around 2pm, along with Gavin. They were only planning on staying for a day -- with us -- it's not worthwhile warming up their place for that short period of time.
Jason did some measuring at his place and then we talked about the plumbing that he is going to do as he puts in two new bathrooms. Running new waste lines under their cottage will not be fun. He also needs to dig down at the corners of the bedroom addition and put pillers down to the bedrock to stop the gradual sinking that has been occuring. My dad was right -- eventually I would be using the cement mixer, which I did last summer for a couple of things and will next summer helping Jason with the pillars.
Jim and Bonnie came over to join us for dinner -- one of my favorite meals -- ham and scalloped potatoes -- my mom always used to make that for me.
On the 7th, Jason et al left around 10am to head back to Brantford. I went into town to mail a packet of stuff to the accountant in Thunder Bay who is doing my Dad's final tax return and then I got onto the trainer for an hour. Now, I cannot procrastinate any further -- it's time to finish my taxes. I need to take all the material with me ready to mail from the U.S. on Monday, along with Jeffrey's stuff.
Sandy took Abby for a long walk and she is now enjoying time by the fire catching up on her reading.
I'm trying to see how long I can draw out completing this blog so that I can avoid getting to my taxes ... not much longer I guess !
