April 8 -- We're off !

Today ... time on the trainer as well as packing, packing again -- trying to get my carry-on down to the 35 pound limit for the bike ride. I didn't quite succeed (I'm probably at 40 pounds) so I hope that they don't give me too much grief.

The following was sent in an email ...

Our time up north was very short – just 5 days, and it flew by – with visits from friends – Jim & Bonnie; Jason & Lorraine & Gavin – it seems that we only got here and got unpacked and now we are getting packed again. We leave early tomorrow a.m. with some errands to do on the way in Toronto.

I won’t be back up here until May 27th, but Sandy will be back for a couple of weeks while I’m on my cross-country jaunt.

In brief – we are heading to Philly tomorrow and then fly out to Phoenix on Wednesday. Out west we’ll visit George & Geri Cederholm; Arlene & Ernie & kids; Alice & Peter Pao – before I start the cross country bike ride on April 23rd. Sandy will fly back to Philly, spend time there as well as in New York with friends, be back up north for a couple of weeks and then visit with Nancy & Ron in Boston before picking me up at the end of the ride on May 24th (assuming that I survive this).

The full schedule is on my blog – and I’ll be updating the blog as often as I can on the road. I’m not 100% sure that I’ll have internet access the entire time, but I’ll do my best.

I’ve been updating the blog for a couple of months now with my training rides as well as any of our other activities. If you really have nothing to do you can start at the beginning and read forward – I guarantee that it will cure insomnia – especially all the nutritional details. You’d have to go back to the beginning to understand why I was so anal about recording my intake.

While on the road I will try and post pictures, but no guarantees.

Happy Easter to all.

Dave (& Sandy)
