yes, it's happened. The last tile is down ... (before I tackle the games room in September that is) ... we're on schedule.
I realized after I dropped the last tile into place that there should have been some fanfare. Oh well. It felt good anyway.
Today I spent the morning measuring then cutting tiles -- 6x10's for the bathroom baseboard and the tiles for under the stairwell and in front of the basement sliding doors. Then, over lunch, I watched the Tour de France current and last mountain stage -- which was already over but I had recorded it during the a.m. -- skipping through the commercials and catching the drama at the ending -- or lack thereof.
ok -- time for mortar -- I installed the bathroom baseboard and trim strips first, which turned out to be fairly easy. Then I installed the tiles under the stairwell, lying down on the job of course (this is the very bottom, i.e. 3 feet to nothing high), then the basement door.
Then, cleanup, then celebratory beer ... next up, shower.
Tomorrow -- grout.
I worked out how many tiles it will take to do the games room and the closet underneath the stairwell landing -- 117 + 8 = 125. It is probably a 5 day job -- three to tile, including cutting, and two for grout. Later ... probably September.

DeWalt yellow for the boathouse door would be cool, but probably not something Sandy would OK. You might consider etching a large, door-sized maple leaf with two different but very close colors of red for an interesting effect...
The tile looks good! It must feel good to be almost done for now.
