Oct 11-12 - hunting and fishing

Well, so far we've gotten 3 ducks and 1 pike. Those will be on the dinner table tonight. Those were all from Saturday. Yesterday we got nothing other than perhaps a sunburn.

The weather is wonderful. It's hitting the high 60's / low 70's and sunny. People are sitting outside and enjoying the weather -- something that we were not able to do during the summer because it was one or more of -- cold, wet, buggy.

Thanksgiving dinner was on Saturday night with 10 for dinner -- our gang, Alex and the Davies. This is Sandy's traditional meal -- turkey, stuffing, turnip, mashed potatoes, cranberries, green beans, coleslaw ... perhaps I'm missing something. The original plan was to then have the fish and ducks for dinner on Sunday but we instead opted to repeat the turkey dinner. It was just as good second time around. I now have the ducks in the slow cooker preparing for tonight. Sandy will add carrots and potatoes later today while we're out.

That's about all to report -- as you can tell I've not had much time at the computer. Between the outdoor activities and playing pool, eating and sleeping -- we've been busy. Mya is feeling better now, thank goodness, and the dogs are playing again. Aaron and Kylie will be leaving shortly for Toronto and Alex's plan is to leave after an early dinner today. Hopefully he will not sit in traffic too much on the way back to Barrie.

More later ...
