May 24 - a quickie

Well, I'm up; it's early; I've got to leave shortly ... but there's more.

I picked up more ceiling tiles yesterday, another 8 boxes, and some peat moss for Sandy. I looked at suspended ceiling venting solutions and came up dry but I'm going to look again today when in Home Depot shopping for plumbing for Stef & Aaron.

As promised, I didn't go for a bike ride. Of course, there are a lot of other things that I didn't do as well. I didn't mow the lawn. I didn't ... well, this could go on forever.

I did go fishing and caught two nice bass. They went back in the lake. Bass season opens just before July 1. That's a pity, because the second one, at 3-4 pounds, would have been a very nice meal. It gave a wonderful fight, jumping out of the water etc. My neighbours pulled in a 22" pickerel, and threw it back. I would not have, so it was lucky for that fish that they caught him/her.

Sandy worked in the garden. She could describe all that she planted; I won't. I have septic stores; she has manure stories. We both deal in crap. What can I say.

The mosquitoes were amazing -- when I was fishing there were clouds around me even denser than the black fly cloud of the prior day. Hopefully the black flies will burn off soon, because mosquitoes are usually only a problem at dusk ... which is prime time on the water for fishing of course so I'll be depending on my bug jacket for some time to come. You know, ice fishing is a whole lot easier, when you get right down to it !

I'm off ... to the shower ... and then off ... to the dentist.
