Yup, we're back up north. Yesterday's trip was uneventful, other than the tour around Buffalo. I was cruising along east on I90, missed I190 that takes you to downtown Buffalo and the Peace Bridge, so we turned back north on I290 and then headed to the Rainbow Bridge. All this was because, according to the Border Traffic Info Number, there was a 1 hour wait for car traffic at the Queenston/Lewiston bridge coming back into Canada.
We stopped at Stef's for a few minutes, visited, saw Stef's vegetable garden, let the dogs play and then headed out again. We arrived at the cottage about 7:15 pm. Naturally it was still light. It was still light, the sun not quite set, at 9pm too, this being the longest days of the year. It was so light out that we could see the knee-high grass -- we've been gone less than two weeks ! I guess that I have my work cut out for me on that score. I need a level property and a driving mower.
My tuna for dinner last night was fresh -- fresh out of the can. I had one of my typical concoctions -- peas, olives, ramen noodles, tuna and soya-based hot sauce. To each his own. Sandy had a pasta that she whipped up and then whipped out -- the sauce was an awful cheese/pesto that she'd never tried before.
A little TV and then bed. Ok, so I slept in front of the TV before going to bed. Sandy was upstairs in the loft watching; I was in the basement -- nice and cool at 68 down there, while the house was at 76 and outside it was over 80. This morning it's 64 outside and destined for 86. I should go for a bike ride. I should mow the lawn. The lawn can wait a day ... it's waited this long.
I suspect that Jason and Lorraine did not come up this weekend -- their grass is long too, but not quite knee-high yet. I'll leave mine for as long as possible so that it will look good compared to theirs :) so that I can give Lorraine a hard time.
This morning I did some minor chores -- make bread; make yogurt; turn on dishwasher; I'm sure there was something else but I forget. Sandy's up now. She is going into Sudbury this morning for a physio appointment and will pick up groceries at the same time.
That's it ...
