June 5 - Stef's wiring ... check

We arrived at Stef's a little after 2:30. Sandy wanted to go to Sherway Gardens and my original plan was to go with her ... but rather than leave Abby in the car for an extended period, I decided to go first to Stef's and let Sandy go on her own. So ... that gave me time to do the wiring that I'd planned.

I installed five receptacles -- 3 in the garage and 2 in the utility room. The garage had been wired with only one receptacle, at the door. The garage door opener was connected to this receptacle with an extension cord. Ridiculous. Aaron had an extension cord attached to a light over his workbench at the back of the garage. I installed a receptacle over the garage door opener, another over the workbench (run from the overhead light) for the plug-in light, and another receptacle by the workbench itself.

In the basement, I added two receptacles - one on either side of the small workbench - one for "stuff" and the other to plug in the water softener, which had been connected via extension cord.

It's currently 6:40 and we're waiting for Aaron to get back from work. He should be here around 7pm. Sandy's back from Sherway Gardens avec a new bathing suit. I've asked her to model ... but she declined.

Tomorrow ... I'll leave here around 4am. It's about an hour to Alliston. The ride there starts at 6am. 400km will take me all day, i.e. hopefully I'll be in before midnight, but perhaps not. My lights will get some use. The weather forecast is still for dry weather, 11C overnight, 17C & partly cloudy during the day. It's supposed to rain Sunday -- that gives me incentive to push it. The good news (I'm always trying to find good news / optimal conditions) is that the wind is from the Northwest and I'll be heading into that after dark. Since the wind usually dies after dusk, that means that the ride into the end should be easier than last week's ride into the thunderstorm.

On the Shenandoah ... I'll likely have thunderstorms at some point. That's the prediction for every day.

OK ... enough for now ... I'll post this later.

It's 3:30. maps.google.com says that it's 1 hour 22 minutes to Alliston. It's probably a little less than that but I've got to be out of here by 4am. I don't expect much traffic. I've had my cereal. I'm drinking my coffee. I'm doing my blog.

Ok -- I've just stared at the computer for a minute and had nothing more to say. Oh -- theweathernetwork.com shows 10C and clear at this point although there are some showers moving across the province north of where I'll be riding. I hope that they stay north. The high is supposed to be 16C -- just over 60F -- not toasty, but at least I won't have to wear my leg warmers etc. etc.

Enough ...
