The first 70 mile ride after all that time off clocked in at 4:40; the next at 4:25; yesterday at 4:15. I'll probably plateau at this point :). There's a limit to how short these rides can get. Both my legs and butt felt fine yesterday. They have come together !
North again, although I was thinking that a little variety would do nicely, the wind was still from the NNE. It was a lovely, sunny Florida day. The tides are running high, with water lapping at the road in Tomoka Park. I've been giving my Lynskey a good run, since that's all that I've ridden since getting back.
As I was riding down the causeway just after setting out for my second ride I heard a metallic clatter and sure enough, within about 1 second, I knew that I had a flat. A hundred feet later, thoroughly flat, I was at Live Oak Street and stopped to do my repair. A while later, changed and pumped, I was off. I checked the tube when I got home and there was a nice chew mark. I don't know what I ran over -- I couldn't see anything on the road yesterday that would have qualified to make that noise.
There was progress in the Master Bath yesterday. Ritchie and Luke arrived a little after 9:30 and Luke immediately set to work on the shower plumbing. Ritchie left after a while to help one of the other Coronado Carpet team lay carpet since all he could do was watch Luke. He had thought that he might be able to help with breaking the concrete for the drain, but Luke figured that there was only room for one of them to work in that small space. When I got back from biking the plumbing rough-in was complete save the shower pan. Ritchie had laid the mortar bed around the newly centered drain. Luke is supposed to be here first thing today to install the rubber shower pan. We're making progress !
I talked to Vic yesterday and the cabinets are ready and waiting to be delivered. He only has to wheel them in and screw them to the wall. Sandy went to Orlando and gave Stone Crazy the marble measurements and the sink. She's expecting to hear back from them shortly regarding picking up the marble. Ritchie wants the marble in place before he tiles down to it on the seat and curb. They will be coming next Wednesday to install the granite vanity top.
There is a pile of tile in the MB awaiting installation; Ritchie has put up a couple of pieces of mortar board ... I expect that he'll be tiling before the day is out. I don't think that the additional tile has arrived yet -- at least it has not arrived here.
Today, after he / they get started, we're going to go boating. The temperature is supposed to hit the high 70's and partly cloudy. I'm sure that Abby won't object.
That's it ...
Onward.
